The children visiting the Adventure Play Castle at the Animal Farm in Burnham on Sea have lots of equipment to play on and climb over. With three levels, turrets, climbing walls, rope bridges, slide and agility course, the parents and carers have the assurance that they have a Leeson’s rubber crumb surface underneath them. The strong, flexible system is resistant whilst being smooth at the same time plus there is no need for maintenance. The Leeson’s resin can be combined with crumb rubber of any colour making the area a vibrant and welcoming space to entertain.
A seaside theme was chosen for this play area in a new housing development. The planners made it a priority that facilities for children were included in a safe space when plans were submitted for approval. The graphics of the seaside animals and compass that were incorporated were specially designed to the customer’s specification and were made prior to installation. During the installation process they were laid in place and the main rubber crumb layer is installed around them. The installation companies can customise the graphics to any design including company or school logos, playground games (e.g. hopscotch) or characters.
Edgewick Park in Coventry installed play equipment for children including a slide and climbing frame. The developers were looking for a surface that would absorb the shock of falls from height but didn’t want the mulch to make a mess of the surrounding area. Leeson’s mulch binder was the perfect solution as it contains the rubber within the play area so it is always around the equipment without leaving any bare patches. Edgewick Park has faced challenges over the years but now it is a family friendly space and provides a venue for a weekly community mile, nature and parklife events, and outdoor concerts.
A wheelchair user in need of adequate access to their home commissioned a ramp of rubber crumb to be installed. Rubber crumb is a strong and sturdy material for ramps with anti-slip properties and will effectively absorb impact from falls and trips. It is comfortable to walk on, is non allergenic and nontoxic making it pet friendly. As it is permeable there won’t be any standing water to cause problems and the quality of the sealant will mean there won’t be any cracking issues. The surface of the ramp will remain smooth and flat which will be safer for longer for the resident.
Leeson’s PU Rubber Mulch was installed into a popular country pub in their children’s play area. It was chosen for its fast-curing properties, its excellent slip resistance, its flexibility and that it is a solvent free resin for bonding rubber mulch systems. The system is porous and rainwater drains through, it is harmless to the environment and doesn’t rot or decompose eliminating the need to be replenished. It is a safe surface in parks and play areas and acts and as a barrier to weeds whilst increasing soil moisture beneath. The versatile system can be designed in bright colours or kept to a natural look depending on the environment.
